My name is Jessica-Lee Marcus and I don’t write to play it safe- I write to tell the truth.
Raw. Unfiltered. Unapologetic.
I was born and raised in South Africa, but my story doesn’t come with a neat little bow. I’ve survived things that could have broken me- should have broken me- but here I am, still standing, still speaking, still writing. I don’t water down reality to make it easier to swallow. I don’t wrap my words in politeness to make them more palatable.
I say what needs to be said, no matter who it makes uncomfortable.
I write for the ones who’ve been silenced, the ones who’ve been told to shrink, the ones who know that real life isn’t pretty- but it’s worth talking about anyway. I’ve seen how quickly people turn away from the ugly truths, how easily fear keeps people quiet. But I refuse to shut up. My words are my weapon, my healing, and my rebellion all at once.
I write to push boundaries, spark conversations, and rip the bandage off the wounds society wants to ignore.
I’m not here to write feel-good stories that make people comfortable. I write the ones that hit hard, stay with you, and refuse to be forgotten. Through Rebel Ink, my personal author brand, I put out books and eBooks that don’t just entertain- they disrupt, expose, and demand to be heard.

AJ Ilentamhen grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, moving frequently with his mother and finding stability through the support of family friends. Despite financial struggles, he developed a deep love for reading at an early age, drawn to stories that sparked curiosity and learning.
Educated in Catholic schools before attending Boston College High School, AJ later pursued his studies at Pennsylvania State University. Always an inquisitive and creative thinker, he often found himself questioning traditional structures and dreaming of becoming a writer and film director.
At nineteen, he committed to that dream and began drafting his first novel, which he later published at age 23.
Now, through Rebel Ink Publishing, AJ continues to create bold, thought-provoking narratives that push boundaries and spark meaningful conversations.
